1. Development Status of Titanium Industry
1. Status quo of the national titanium industry
The production of titanium sponge and processed materials in China is increasing year by year. In 2021, the output of titanium sponge in China will be 139,900 tons, and the production capacity will reach 181,000 tons; the processed material will be 136,000 tons, and at a growth rate of 20%, it will reach 200,000 tons in two or three years.
2. National titanium industry distribution
The center of gravity of domestic sponge titanium production has shifted from east to west. Traditional titanium sponge production in Liaoning Province has dropped from 34.6% in 2020 to 25.9%; titanium and titanium alloy ingots are 40.4%, titanium processed materials are 44.3%, titanium plates are 27.9%, and titanium rods 69.5% of the production is concentrated in Shaanxi, and 50.8% of the production of titanium pipes is in Jiangsu.

3. Status quo of titanium industry in Baoji area
The general situation of Baoji titanium industry is that Baoti takes the lead, and private enterprises are galloping. The development plan of Baoji's titanium industry in the next 2~3 years will have the world's largest market share of titanium materials, 100,000 tons of titanium output, and 100 billion yuan in industry.
4. World Titanium Industry Situation
Japan is leading in technology of sponge titanium, titanium belt, and civilian products; Russia's titanium industry is dominated by military industry, and its products are mainly used in aviation + ships; the US titanium industry is dominated by aviation and has leading technology.
2. Transformation and upgrading of equipment technology to promote product upgrading
Equipment + technology = new products, using advanced equipment, the bottleneck of the original production technology is gradually broken through.

1. Baotai Equipment Design, Manufacturing and Research Institute and other companies have digested and absorbed and re-innovated the VAR furnace of German ALD company, which has reached the international advanced level and basically solved the shortcomings of my country's smelting. The EB furnace introduced technology from Ukraine and the United States, and realized localization in enterprises such as Baotai, Qinghai Juneng, and Yunti.
2. Domestic enterprises such as Lanshi, Tianduan and Heforging have mastered the manufacturing technology of 10,000-ton free forging and press-fitting large-scale equipment, and a batch of 10,000-ton, 8,000-ton, 6,000-ton, and 4,000-ton-level equipment has been put into production or is being manufactured. Equipped with the ability to forge large-scale VAR ingots with a diameter of more than 1 meter and EB slabs with a thickness of 400 mm, and produce large-scale bars with a diameter of 600 mm.
3. Plates account for about 60% of the market demand for titanium materials. In the past, sheet production was used. Now, except for thick plates and alloy plates, they are all belt-type production and sheet delivery, providing high-quality raw materials for welded pipes.
4. The three (extrusion, radial forging, and rolling methods) preparation methods for large-scale thick-walled (10-50MM) seamless pipes are becoming more and more mature.

5. Some titanium enterprises have successfully developed large-scale welded pipes produced by strip welding, and the traditional extrusion and rolling process has high costs, complex processes, and difficult control of internal and external quality problems have been solved.
6. The application of technologies such as high-speed rolling of wire billets, roll die drawing, and multi-tube continuous annealing has made titanium metal products such as welding wire, medical, and aerospace fasteners more excellent in quality.
7. Originally, only the United States and the Soviet Union could produce titanium alloy profiles. After years of research, Baoti Group successfully developed a variety of profiles to meet the urgent needs of the country's aerospace industry.

3. Some views on the development and application of titanium materials
The two traditional application fields of titanium materials have the largest increase; marine ships, construction, and civil titanium materials are becoming new fields of titanium material applications. It is estimated that in the next 2-3 years, according to the current development rate of 20-30%, the national sponge titanium and titanium processing materials will soon reach 200,000 tons.
